Hi !
I have a question every time i going to rec a live drum i do this:

I put balanced lines(one corner a XLR female on the other one 1/4 stereo terminal)terminal from mic's directly to the 001. I put the oh mic's
on the two input with phantom power and the other
parts on the back of the 001.

It's correct to connect in direct mode
the lines to the 001 for a drum?
What other alternatives i have? images/icons/frown.gif

the inputs on the back of the unit are line level inputs which basically means that they do not have as much gain as the two front inputs so you probably won't be able to make them loud enough.

although what you are doing may work, the correct procedure is to use a microphone preamplifier. that is, you connect the microphone to the preamplifier then connect the output of the preamplifier to the inputs on the back of the 001. you will find that most mixing consoles contain microphone preamplifiers or you can buy them as stand alone units. there are many available, ranging in price from a few hundred dollars to many thousands of dollars. you may find lots of second-hand items for sale if you check out e-bay (http://www.ebay.com) and digibid (http://www.digibid.com) or mercenary audio (http://www.mercenary.com) plus many other sources.
