This has probably been asked before but why is it that Avid has confined projects and associated media to the cloud alone. I want my editors to share their work between rooms and using projects is a great way to do this. I really don't need cloud storage (or want it for 1TB worth of audio files). Adobe can share media and files locally. Why not ProTools? Surely the time has come Avid.

Because then they can't charge you for it.

You can share and collaborate with PT. Have a look on the website at things such as Interplay.

I suspect you'll see Intranet collaboration in addition to Internet collab at some point in the future. It's the natural progression.

In fact, I bet you see the session format replaced with a project format.

All pure speculation on my part of course.

Interplay is not it for PT editing. Drew, I will keep an eye out for speculators!
