I bought Pro Tools 12 a little over a year ago, it was originally on my laptop but it just isn't up to the task since it only has an i5 dual core chipset and 8 GB RAM.

I just installed PT 12.7.1 on my wife's desktop computer and it should run much better, it has an i7 quad core chipset and 24 GB of RAM. I got PT downloaded and working okay but I noticed that anytime I restart this computer I'm getting this annoying window that pops up.

Here's what it says:

"AvidApplicationManager.exe-No Disk"

"There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive D:."

And there are three buttons on the bottom that say:
Cancel, Try Again, Continue

I usually click on either Cancel or Continue, then the computer finishes restarting itself. When I click on the Pro Tools icon, the program opens up without a problem.

So what the heck is up with this erroneous error message saying that I need to insert a disk into drive D?

I'd like to get rid of it but I don't know how. Any hints out there?

there are many posts on this, do a search. you can just delete the AvidApplicationManager with no problems.

Okay, thanks climber. Sorry, I should have searched that.

you can try this as well .. go to MacHD / Library / Launch Agents ... trash or move the AppMan file .. this will stop App MAn from launching on next startup ..

or you can uninstall in the Applications / Avid / uninstallers folder ..
