pro-tools 8 freezing during recording

Hello,

I'm running pro-tools 8 on osx 10.6.4, using a projectmix as the interface. I have my mpc2500 midi synced to protools via the projectmix. I have 5 tracks record enabled. I press play on pro-tools and it triggers the mpc:-), however when I press record and play pro-tools freezes:confused:, and I get the spinning ball:mad:.When I tried enabling and recording only one track, after about 5 mins. pro-tools unfroze and began recording. I'm trying to figure whats causing the freeze and how to prevent it. Thanks in advance!! Edit: I'm running pro-tools 8 m-powered vers. 8.0.3cs1

I have had this problem also. Sometimes still do but can't work out what is really going on. Recording using only one processor helps and also keeping the H/W as low as possible when recording. Deactivate all other stuff also (bluetooth etc etc). I'm also having problems in that PT crashes after I bounce to disk and my Project Mix sometimes doesn't want to speak to to my computer.
