Hi guys I recently upgraded computer from a Imac (2.67 intel duo), to a used (with warranty) Mac Pro (Intel 3ghz quad). I have also installed a UAD-2 Solo dsp card.
The problem I'm having is sometimes I get the error window telling me that I am running out of cpu processing power, and should increase the HW buffer size. I have been monitoring the rtas processing and load on the cpu, and it has not gone over 50%. It doesn't happen too often, but mainly occurs when Im clicking bypass on/off on something like a reverb or delay plug-in.
I've tried altering settings within the playback engine but it doesn't help.
When i purchased the new computer I asked them to install more ram as it only came with 1gb. If they installed the wrong type of ram would that cause this or is there another solution?
