Running PT 8 M-Powered and M-Audio proJectMix I/O on my Apple iMac 20in and MBP 15.

So far, everything is A OK.

I have excellent microphones, Amps and Monitors, everything sounds seriously really good.

My question and I am almost and i am almost embarrassed to ask it,

Where is the Mixdown or Mastering function in the ProTools menu.

I just can't figure it out after weeks of searching. My mix are ready on several songs but I can't seem to find out to master it in either Wave, AIFF or MP3 Format.

This is driving me nutz.

Do I need an external plug in and if so, wich one please ?

Thx All

Yves

Hey.

It's called Bounce.
Go to File>Bounce to Disk.

If you're working on sessions recorded at 24 bit, you should apply a Dither on the Master to avoid truncation artifacts, but only if you want to go to 16 bit.You obviously won't need it if you want a 24 bit file.

Note that the MP3 bouncing is an option. You'd need Music Production Tool Kit.

Anyhow you'll see all the options in the Bounce to Disk Dialog box.

Enjoy.

Nothing to be embarrassed about

Not knowing something and subsequently finding out is the path to wisdom.
