Does it work well powered by the USB port? I'm going to make my own script tray for the D-Command to hold the Axiom when I'm programming, and the less cables the better.

Thanks.

That might just be true.

Follow-up question:

Is it OK to power the Axiom from my 20" Apple Cinema display? My powered USB-hub is full. The only available USB-port on the G5 is the one on the front, and I want that one free. That leaves me with the ones on the display...

Can't tell you before I actually buy it. ;)

The Axiom over the Axiom Pro, Stig?

The Axiom over the Axiom Pro, Stig?
Sure. I just need 2 octaves of decent keys, a mod wheel, a pitch bend and octave transpose buttons. I can't see that the Pro version has anything that I need. It's twice the money too.

Some remote control services that the Axiom Pro only supports might have been of use.

What in particular do you find useful on Pro?

Real-time plug-in control whilst recording.

Hmm...I've never missed that. I assume you are talking VI's now?

Performance controls, yeah. And it's white. :p

White doesn't work with my D-Command ES. ;)

Filo, are there any aspects with the Pro that's PT 8 only? I know there's a MIDI learn thing in 8 that's new, but besides that? I checked, and sys. req. for Pro is 7.4 and later, so I assume that there's full functionality in 7.4 too.

I'm certainly leaning towards the Axiom 25, but I don't mind being wrong.

Remote is the key word but Pro Tools 8 and higher supports Assignable Parameter Control. Plug-In Learn Mode. The Axiom Pro for performance also supports 50 assignable Patches for third party applications and MIDI enabled external sound sources.

Thanks. We'll see...
