I've recorded songs for years, and I'm familiar with starting new sessions. Recently I upgraded to pro tools 8, and have been working with midi, so since the upgrade I have not recorded any vocals, or guitar. Before I start messing things up, I thought I'd check with the experts. :)
Here's whats going on: When I hit the mic, I can hear it through my speakers, but when I hit record my lights for levels shoot up like there is something else that its hearing. I tried both channels on the Mbox, both 1/4 inch and mic inputs, and I opened a new session, but all produce the same outcome. When I record nothing shows up on the track. Other than making sure I'm on the right channel, and troubleshooting with the Mbox, I'm not sure what else to check.
