disappearing audio regions

I've had several audio regions disappear from sessions lately. Protools doesn't complain of missing files, but some of the regions simply aren't there. I've been able to recover the missing regions using the auto-session file backups, but I'd love to know if others are experiencing this.

I'm using M-Powered 8.0.3 on a 2GHz intel iMac.

Just had this happen today. Closed the session. Opened a different session. Came back to the original session and the timeline was empty of all regions. The audio files are still in the audio folder but the session doesn't contain any regions. This was on an HD system running 7.4.

Has anyone else experienced this?
