What's the limit for PT 8 M-Powered..

some say yes, others say no...

is it only 18 the limit? what about the M-Audio Lightbridge? ..

meaning.. that if you want to record more than 18 simultaneously individual tracks in pro tools you have to go HD?

The limit is 18 I/O in LE/MP. They did accidentally put out a version of MPowered 7.3 that had a bug that would let you use 2 LightBridges for 32 I/O. It was pulled and "Fixed" and reposted. The way things currently are you will need HD to record more than 18 tracks.

I don't have trouble track bands live or multimicing drums. More inputs would of course be nice. I'm not a fan of artificial limits.

It gives you more tracks (64) but not more inputs.
You can record 48 tracks at once, but you still only get 18 physical I/O.
