I'm upgrading my beige G3 desktop to one of the new G4's (533MHZ) What's the best way to use my Opcode midi interface, which is serial. Is the Griffin g4port that replaces the internal modem the ticket? Also, I use a Waves dongle; will a ADB to USB work OK for it? Thanks

For as Digi supports :
MIDI

Both USB and serial MIDI interfaces work effectively with Pro Tools. Digidesign recommends using a serial MIDI interface, as they offer the tightest possible MIDI timing. Serial MIDI interfaces require either a Mac serial port or a qualified modem-to-serial port adapter. Digidesign currently supports the GeeThree Stealth Port for G4 - AGP Video (Sawtooth), Stealth Port for Dual Processor G4s and Griffin gPort II installed in the modem port (thereby not using a PCI slot).

When using the GeeThree products with OS 9.0.4 the latest version of the Stealth Port extension (v1.0.3) is required. It is available here: http://www.geethree.com/download.html

As far as the Waves dongle use the Griffin iMate, USB to ADB adapter.
