the new G4 466 news

We just got the new 466 with 4 slots just wanted to let you know that these computers will not see any farm cards it will only see the core card and other HBA type cards like SCSI, Fibre, and Video etc..... just wanted to let you know before you go buy one....
I'm sure that Digi will have the fix soon but unless you are running more than 16 I/O's and dont need the extra TDM just wait because these are awsome machines

yes the core and farm come from an existing system and when put back it works fine in the older G4 . The digi test only shows the Mix core card in slot #18 and always #18 no matter what slot the core is in #2,3,4,or 5
in the new G4s

They probably have a new version of DigiTest. Trash your Digisetup, DAE and PT Prefs and reinstall the Farms. I bet they work. Don't trust Digitest, I've been burned by it before myself.

the version of digit test is the latest one from PT 5.1 and besides that after i had allready trashed all the prefs used for PT, PT still does not see the farm cards
the new G4's have a compleatly new PCI architecture that the Digi INIT is not recognizing the apple sys. profiler does infact see the farm cards it is just PT that is having the problem never the less I am going to give it another try today
ill let you know.... I'll be one happy camper if this new G4 works today i need it to work bad

yes ASP does see all the cards its just protools that doesn't see them

I've tried everything and can not get it te see farm cards either in the digitest or protools
so i guess that I,m just going to wait to see what digi will do I'm expecting to see a new Digi INIT/ DAE out soon ????

Just got a new g4 and am seeing the same behavior. i'm trying to run a d24 and 2 Mix Farms. No Luck. This is extremely unfortunate.

the new g4s wont run 9.04 and besides the point I've got three rigs ( g4 Dd ) at work all using 9.1 just fine
