Hi,
I just (now) upgraded to 9.0.4 from 8.6. In general, it seems to run better + more efficiently. However, PT LE/001 system consistantly hangs on launch (splash screen never comes up). I haven't found people having too many other problems with it, so not sure what the deal is. Here's what have:
*G4/350
*256mb
*9.0.4, MINIMAL extensions
*Digi init 5.0.1cs4

Here's what I've done, with no fix:
*Went back to Mac OS Base Extention Set
*trashed Prefs+Digi setup
*Complete PT re-install

What the devil is happening? Anyone else? The only I can think of is that used a 9.0.4 installer from a different machine, and Apple is starting to have system discs for specific machines (LAME), but everything else runs fine (Peak, other apps).

Appreciated,
Brian

Pro Tools may be having problems verifying your authorization. Download and run the PACE Hang Buster utility and then relaunch Pro Tools:

I would also suggest creating a Mac OS+Digi extension set:
-Open the Extensions Manager Control Panel. From the selected set pop-up menu, select “OS 9.x base” click on “Duplicate Set" at the bottom of the window. Name the set whatever you like. Enable the following extensions and restart the computer:
-Digidesign Control Panel
-DigiSystem INIT
-Digidesign DSP Manager
-Digidesign Stream Manager (only if using DirectConnect)
-Open Music System
-USB Floppy Enabler
