View Full Version : irritating midi issue

ive noticed this problem for a while now, but as time goes on it gets more and more irritating. im running PT 6.4 and when im drawing midi notes im having a horrible problem. to recreate it, lets say i have 2 measures of a midi drum riff that happen just before a chorus. i want the same drum part just before each chorus, so it happens 3 times in the song. i have the part drawn once, i change the grid mode to 1 bar, select the 2 bars of drums, copy them, and then go the next chorus to paste it just before. this is where the problem happens. for some strange reason, it not only pastes the 2 bars of drums, but it deletes the midi data of the 1st beat of the next measure. ive done this multiple times, making sure im not selecting too much when im copying or pasting. its very annoying coz i then have to always redraw those first few notes.

has anyone else ever had this problem or know of any possible fixes? again, im using PT 6.4. maybe all i need to do is upgrade to 6.7?

thanks in advance!

When pasting, use the 'merge paste' function (alt+m).
