I've just invested in Mbox/LE 6.4 setup, and I have an internal 40Gig system drive and an external 80Gig hard drive, is it and will it be a problem that the external drive runs USB 1.0? Is it possible to record and store files on the External Drive, and use it as a dedicated Audio Drive?

best guess is no as it is not fast enough. You really need firewire or USB2. I recommend adding a second internal drive for now.(Tiger Direct has a Maxstor on sale for $39.99 after rebate this week only). Next month, go get a USB2 or firewire card($30-40) or a combo Adaptec DuoConnect with both. You can still backup to your USB 1 drive, but you would need to move the files back onto your internal drive to run them.

Or go to Best Buy and get the WD 80 GB 8mb cache drive for 25.00 now with rebates. My favorite drive for PTLE. I would record to an internal drive and use the external for backup and transfering sessions.
