I have a Korg D-1600 with s/pdif lightpipe outs and want to import some tracks previously recorded there to pro tools 002 rack. I can't figure out the specifics on how to go about doing this. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

It’s just a matter of connecting the two machines with an optical cable.
Then you set up a track, or tracks in PT and select the "adat" or "optical" inputs on those. (depends on what they’re called in your I/O setup.
Hit play on the D1600 and record on the tracks in Protools.
This way you can dump eight tracks at a time.

You should check your harware setup to make shure that PT syncs to ADAT and not spdif.

Of course, optical cable can also send spdif data, but that’s only two tracks.
