Unable to locate hardware error message.

Can someone assist please. Yesterday I bounced a few songs to disk without any problem. However today I am unable to maintain commnication with my Digi002 unit. Initially I was able to get the unit to validate then load. However when I turn on the unit all I would sometime see are a few dots in the channel strip. If I were to then turn off the unit and try again, the unit might validate and load. However after a few minutes it would give an error message saying that it is unable to locate hardware/communicate with the Digi002 hardware. Any advice would be appreciated.
