What does this error mean? We are currently installing 6.4LE running within OSX.3.4, G5. Sessions appear to open correctly, but the above error dialog shows up four times during PT launch. Have we authorized incorrectly? Should we reinstall PT?

Many thanks,

John Caldwell

Hi,

Try repairng disk permissions.

Quit Pro Tools and launch Apple's "Disk Utility" application. Select your boot volume, go to First Aid and select "Repair Disk Permisions." Apple recommends doing this any time an OS update or reinstall is done with OS X.

Also, try the following if everything else checks out.

You may need to repair your iLok permissions. Insert your 6.x installer cd and locate a folder named Interlock support. Inside this folder you will find a Disk image named PACE repair utility.dmg. Run the application inside the disk image and see if the problem persists.

If you are still encountering this error go to the Pace website, download and install the most current drivers.

This is a known issue when a drive is mounted that does not have read/write access (access denied when attempting to open through Finder).

The message is actually being produced by the Mac OS but reported by Pro Tools.
This error can occur if the Ownership & Permissions settings for the Pro Tools folder are set improperly. Select the Pro Tools folder, choose Get Info from the File Menu and make sure that the Ownership & Permissions settings look something like this:

Owner: xxxx (Me)
Access: Read & Write

Group: admin
Access: Read & Write

Others: Read & Write
