Default A Happy Thank You for the 2022.6 MIDI fixes

Thank you kindly to the AVID team for the number of MIDI fixes listed in the PT 2022.6 release notes!
I've yet to download and try things out but the number of MIDI fixes certainly shows a lot has been given attention!

This really makes my day and makes me glad to be a loyal customer.

Finally!!!! We have been on to Avid to fix this for years with no resolution whatsoever.

I have installed 2022.6 over my 2022.3 leaving my 2021.7 (super stable for me) intact and then opened an older session where this issues was very prevalent and it really seems to have been resolved. I could find any lobsided clips at all!

This is big for me, as I was so frustrated with PT for it, I I moved to midi sequencing in my Akai MPCX (which I'm loving and will continue to use), it's good to know that after all these years they have finally sorted it out.

Installed the latest version so will get stuck in with MIDI editing before too long. Looking forward to seeing the improvements!

In general, bug fixes are rated far too low with software companies. They seem to focus on bells and whistles to grab new customers and keep ahead/a pace with the competition. However, crashes and bugs are pain in the buttocks for existing users and do nothing for new sales either.

So Avid, be careful of focusing too much time on what you think we want when all we want are long term gripes addressing. Much appreciated

Stephen

I played with midi last night and found the new midi features helpful. Wish I'd had them a few months ago on my current project. Thanks, Avid. More focus on midi workflows would be great.

Thank you Avid team for all the big fixes! I am another user who really appreciates bug fixes and stability improvements over new features!

I had an issue where I couldn't select notes that I had quantized. Anybody else?

You said "had" - do you mean in an older version, or the current 2022.6?

I mean "had" like I just did it, in the newly installed version. Guess I should have said "had just quantized".

Ok, so after spending some time with the latest update I can confirm that the midi Sampling Rounding issue has been fixed. Not 100% but at least one can copy, paste, duplicate and drag worry-free.
The only thing that is still being affected is if you nudge your clip or selected midi notes. It will throw them off the grid. I can definitely live without using nudge but I will still report it just in case.

That 1 sample is not being added to any clips, Audio or Midi anymore.
I have tested a bunch of Tempos without any issues.

Super happy that they finally squashed this out as I can now work with a zen mind. Thanks to everyone who helped push and force Avid to actually fix this. I hope that you guys can enjoy creating music again.

Cheers!

I'm happy to see such a positive response to this. I understand a ton of work went into it.
