Application Manager causing ghost image pop-ups and cpu spikes:
After installing 12.6, getting annoying flash ghost-image pop-ups and cpu spikes on all computer monitors (3). I started trying to narrow it down to other things installed. In Task Manager (Cntrl/Alt/Delete), I was able to see what was happening on the performance tab. Highlighting the Avid Application Manager, clicking on the "End task" button, ended the problem. Also noticed today that the Application manager is not logging in, just hangs there spinning. I looked for a separate updated version of AAM to download and couldn't find it anywhere on Avid's website search or any other reports on this problem. Since it doesn't have to run while in a session, I just stop the program from running and proceed. Gitrdan ![]() Windows 10 Pro 16 GB RAM Intel i7-3610QM CPU @ 2.30GHz |

The first thing I do after downloading a PT release is uninstall the app manager. I think I'm not alone.

You are not alone. You can also just disable app manager in Task Manager.
