Windows audio Pro Tools HD1
I bought a used HD1 Core Card (Pci-X, the old PCI slot) and a 96i/o.
I didn't have software or anything for it. For now, I tried a cracked HD10 as I could not find earlier versions of Pro Tools HD for sale and the problem is I cannot have audio from Windows Media Player. It works with the Pro Tools HD10 but I couldn't find any WDM drivers so that it could run audio with windows programs, besides PT HD10. I am a beginner with Digidesign, obviously, and any help would be very much welcome. Thank you! |

Re: Windows audio Pro Tools HD1
Don't think you will get much help here saying you have used a cracked version !!

Re: Windows audio Pro Tools HD1
Truthfully, you will be better off if you do NOT run Windows audio thru the HD system. You need a monitor controller anyway, so your life will be better if you feed Windows audio directly to the monitor controller. This avoids any conflict of Windows and Pro Tools "fighting" over which software is "in charge" of the HD hardware. I use a Presonus Central Station, which I highly recommend, but the Mackie Big Knob or Samson C-Control can do the job for less money
As for HD software, check the Buy&Sell section of the DUC, or eBay.

Re: Windows audio Pro Tools HD1
Thanks! So basically, it's better to use an onboard soundcard for windows audio tasks, run it through a monitor station. I come from the world of Motu, Rme, Cubase, where I had no such issues. I decided to switch to Pro Tools, because every studio uses it. I hope I won't regret it. Thanks again for the reply! I will look for someone selling a HD8.
