Default How to drag-and-drop in Windows

I've read many stories now about drag-and-drop with Windows.. and would mostly like to put an end to this. Can you d&d files from explorer into a Pro Tools session? Having to go to File>Import etc each time is an utter time killer.

I've just come back from working on a Mac (first time using PT on a Mac) and didn't even know that d&d existed in Pro Tools.

Currently I'm just getting a circle mouse icon with a line through whenever I try to d&d.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Hey Guys,

I'm having the same issue on PT 10 as well. I already had UAC disabled on my rig as suggested in the other thread but that doesn't seem to help. Is there anything else you guys have tried that has resolved this? Any help is appreciated, thank you!!

Are you using Run As Administrator? If so, that's why you can't drag from Windows Explorer into PT.

So if drag and drop is that important, just don't use Run As Admin.

For me, I always use Run As Admin, for one, I have to or any IK Multimedia plugins won't open, and two, PT just runs better with Run As Admin, your results may vary.
