Clock source & sample rate message
whenever I go to play my session, the tracks come up just fine. But when I push the play button, I get the following message: "problem detected with audio clock. check that your clock source and sample rate are correct". I went to setup and found that my clock was set at internal and the sample rate was 44.1. I cut the computer off and then restarted it. It worked for a while and then the message came back again. I have seen that someone else has had this problem but it was never resolved. If you can help, please do. Mistermac

Re: Clock source & sample rate message
2GB is not enough RAM(although I can't say for sure that its the issue here). Doing an uninstall and reinstall of Pro Tools might help, but start by trashing prefs and database files(always step #1 for odd behavior).

Re: Clock source & sample rate message
And all the time you had the same session open?
Was the session created on your system? Do you have anything connected to the digital sp/dif input on the mbox?

Re: Clock source & sample rate message
The session is on my External Hard drive. When I bring up my session, everything is there, but when I start to play, it doesn't do anything. It is frozen. I have the M Box hooked up correctly. The session was created on the External hard drive I think. I recently moved some of my sessions over to my External Hard drive and that my be part of the problem. I don't know.

Re: Clock source & sample rate message
You didn't really answer any of my questions.
And what I ment by "created on your system" was if it came from different Protools PC.

Re: Clock source & sample rate message
Quote:
Make a new session and use Import Session Data to import the old session. I'd start be trying to link the audio files

Re: Clock source & sample rate message
I experienced the same error this morning. Never had it before. Created a new session from a template, the same simple two track session I'd used for years, put it in record/start, and got the clock source and sample rate message. I ended up changing my clock source from internal, to spdif, recorded a few seconds, then back to internal...and everything worked.
Why would something like this start happening? I did a google search and quite a few pro tools users are suddenly experiencing it. Jim |

Re: Clock source & sample rate message
I've been having the same problem lately. Just started in the last week or so. Seems like right after I upgraded my Soundtoys bundle to ver. 4. Any of you by chance do that recently?
My workaround is to close the session and open an old session that was created in a previous version (in this case, one that was created in 7.4). And for some reason it'll work now. So I close and go back to the session I want and now it will work. This has been a pretty consistent resolution to the problem for me, although I think I tried it with a newer old session (like one that was created in 9) and it didn't work. But at least I've been able to get around it and it hasn't really stopped my workflow.
