Unhappy PACEAP Driver Not Installing

hey guys im new to the forum but have been using protools for the last 5 years and havent had many problems until recently.

***Note*** - although this is a PACE-AP problem i didnt know anywhere else to ask advice from.

anway.......... aftewr a few days of receiving my iLok 2 and tying to install Protools 9 which installs fine, but i have found that when trying to update the PACE drivers using the Latest Driver installer the installer splash hasnt actually poped up to allow me to install the new driver.

It just stays at the "License suport wizard loading/install Microsoft DLLs" box

Now this might just install the new drivers without going through the installtion "pop up", i dont really know tbh

so i wondering if anyone had any advice or has had this problem previously and has a solution(s) to this particular problem?

yes i am atm, ive uninstalled IE8 becuase a few people have been saying that that can cause problems with PT.

DO u think that Firefox is conflicting with the PACE-AP driver?

Most definatly. I had exactly the same issue. Revert back to FF 3.6 and your problem will be solved. Make sure you completly uninstall FF4.

ok.........

i have installed the Ilok client helper + the PACE driver that it comes with....

as expected I receive the PACE error 3 box after installing PT and rebooting the machine.

with that in mind I have been trying to install the current up to date drivers, but the driver installation license wizard screen has been crashing before I actually get a chance to install the new driver.

ok...go to control panel then programs and tell us what version of the Pace drivers you have installed. if you see ONLY 5.8 drivers then that is your problem. PT installs and looks for Pace 5.9.x drivers. if this is failin' then the order in which you've done things might be the problem.

make sure you have installed the PT drivers first. then reboot as instructed...leave device turned off...install PT9...reboot...turn on device as you reboot...check device manager to ensure device is installed and recognized...if it looks good then start PT. hope that helps...
