Default Can I still use v8 as well after upgrade to v9?

I currently run LE v8.04 with CPTK on my Windows machine, and I have an old Mac G5 I use as a spare backup system (which obviously can only run the PPC friendly v8.01).

Does anyone know whether an upgrade to 9 for the Windows machine will still let me run 8 on the G5? Or does the upgrade mean I forfeit the old licence?

Sorry if this is a dumb question!

Great question.

I'd like to know too. If there are issues in 9, there are probably alot of people who would need to jump back to PT 8 to finish what they need.

I'll see if there is another version of 8 running somewhere. I know someone with 9 already.

Would be great to hear from AVID on this though.

Yeah, precisely! I'm not usually one to jump on fresh versions for this exact reason! But we're talking ADC finally!

Protools LE 8 is serial number - You can keep that. Protools 9 requires an ilok.
You will need to get an Intel Mac to use PT 9 as it's Snow Leopard ONLY on a Mac.

The Pro Tools 9 auth is a bundled auth that will include a Pro Tools 8 auth for systems that require a version 8 auth to launch (M-Powered, HD).

What about DVTK upgrade to CPTK? Will I be able to use PTLE8 with the old DVTK after upgrading too?
