Default My 11R does Steve Vai

Hi everyone,

After 20 years listening Steve Vai, I discovered one week ago that I have never played one of his songs !!! lol

I received yesterday Steve Vai naked tracks and I learned quickly "Liberty". Playing is not accurate yet but I think the tone with my EBMMJP6 + 11 rack + JazIIIXL was quite convincing.

Your opinion ?

Edit : I also added hereafter a version of For the Love of God for which this tone works also great. Playing is sometimes sloppy, but I've just learned it so I'm often hesitating...

Cheers

Sounds great! I like that last flurry, the finale. Are you playing a Jem or another Ibanez basswood guitar?
I think the tone is there. Adding some highs in 11R, or EQ in PT @ 5-8kHz would perfect

Very well done djemass! Very convincing Vai tone. I bet Steve Vai himself would be proud!

Sounded good with your Ernie Ball too. Getting one of those Petrucci model guitars is on my wishlist!

Peace
Mike

hehe sounded liked basswood to me, EBMM's are basswood. The 11R is perfect for the Vai tone or Petrucci or Gilbert and modern Satriani, too. Early Satch was MArshall's and Mahogany, Alder and Basswood guitars, so more complex.

Hi

thanx bros

the patch will be uploade later. In fact is it just a variation of my patch DJE TSCO, ie M2 sim + 4x12'greenback+royer 121 on axis.

I played everything with the neck pickup except of the intro

Cheers

Man 11R must be A LOT different than the RTAS... the greenback cab and Royer sounds like crap in the RTAS, not like your clip at all

You learnt and recorded that in a day .

Oh, I hang my head in shame . That would take me a week just to learn and forget about trying to play it at speed and then recording it.

I'll look forward to the patch though and I will try and learn the song as well.

Very well done .

Regards,
Verc.
