Default Help! Effect on Voice!!!

Hi Chaps, hope someone can help.

I'm currently working on an animation series (just vo recording at the moment)
In some of the episodes there is a character which is a T-rex. She is a female character played by a male actor.
He delivers a very deep tone which is nice, but also very damaging on his voice.
The client has asked me to make the voice sound deeper and more animal like with a more growly texture to it.

I have been playing some time and can obviously make the voice deeper by pitch shifting etc and also boosting the low freq with eq and such but I'm really struggling to add a more growly animal like texture to it.

Does anyone have any secret techniques or plugins that will make his voice sound more like a 100 ft tall growling lizard????

Thanks in advance for any...... i mean any ideas.

Regards Jim

Prosoniq makes Morph which is excellent (may affect intelligibility though). Basically can morph two signal sources into one. They used to make the plug in available for PC and Mac but I think it's Mac only now, which may be fine for you.

Hi thanks for all yor help, in the end I gated some pitched lion roars and ran them with the dialog through lowender for some extra sub. And also through a tc electronic fireworx wich added som nice raspy qualitys. I'll definately check out all of your other suggestions though, to see what works best.

Thanks again jim
