Default Best Mac For Pro Tool

I have been researching and still cant decide what mac to get for my studio. I have been using a PC for Recording but want to upgrade to mac . I have about 4k to spend on it. what is the absolute best mac i can get for running pro tools . I will be upgrading to HD also so need the EXP slot as well. I have been looking at the Apple Mac Pro 3.2GHz 8-Core but want other opinions. i will also be getting Pro Tools|HD 2 Accel. I do sessions for many church orchestras and And Big Bands and i need the power. Any Suggestions?

Hard to go wrong with a Mac Pro 8 core. You might want to check out this thread on the new intel i7 systems.

I don't think you're going to find a much "better" option than a Mac Pro, 8 core, at 3.2ghz. I don't think you're going to find a more expensive option either.

the question should really be either

a.) what is the best mac for protools within my budget of $X
b.) what sort of budget should I be looking at to do $X with protools on a mac
