Default Dae error 6090

The Imac has been running great with PT7. Sorry not sure of the specs right now. I'm not in front of the computer to give accurate details.

There are a few projects I've been working on, Maxtor 180gp drive with 25gigs left, no problems till I opened a session tonight. Went to zoom in and got an unable to parse...insert audio file name...!! Zoomed out and the audio on that file dissapeared. Rebooted, same problem. Rebooted and did an internal bounce of the mix without zooming in and got the 6090 error. The error happens in the same place of the song and the bounce stops. Transfered song to another drive and got the same error in the same spot.

Tomorrow I'll consolidate the track and see if that helps.

On a side not my 003 crapped out 2 weeks ago. It's just over a year old and out of warrenty. Started with clocking errors (on a different drive) and then wouldn't power up. I've been borrowing a friends 002 while I get an estimate. Running an Apogee 800 lightpipe for another 8 in and clock off of that. The 003 was messing up on external and internal. Bought the 003 cause my 002 was messing up. 003 has never left the rack and has breathing room on top.

Thanks in advance.

Which model iMac is this? How do you have everything connected? Which OS version? What type of drives?

Typical symptoms of 6090 errors are firewire based - bad cables, too many devices in the chain, a chain that's too long, failure of ports, etc.

It could be that you have your playback engine settings for processor usage set too high - try it at 80% or so.

Check your states implied warranty law, most will override any manufacturer's written warranty NO MATTER WHAT. This info can be found on your state's Attorney General's website, or better yet give them a call. In Maine we have a 4yr implied warranty, so Maine says your Digi 003 should last at least 4 years. I've used this many many many times to get products replaced.

I'm sure Digi would agree that your 003 should last longer than just over a year...
