ProTools Mac benchmarking - comparing model performance?
Is there such a benchmark test and resulting chart that compares the performance of ProTools on the different new Mac models?
The bottom line question: is it worth the extra money buying a Mac Pro over an iMac? How much boost in performance is there with an 8-core over the quad-core MacPro? MacPro $3,397 Two 2.66GHz Dual-Core Intel Xeon 2GB (4 x 512MB) 250GB 7200-rpm Serial ATA 3Gb/s NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT 256MB (single-link DVI/dual-link DVI) Apple Cinema Display (20" flat panel) iMac $1,649 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo ATI Radeon HD 2600 PRO with 256MB memory 2GB 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM - 2x1GB 320GB Serial ATA Drive SuperDrive 8x (DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW) 20-inch glossy widescreen LCD AirPort Extreme - Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR |
