Default Very unusual problem

I have been working with PT for a few years now and this error is a new one on me.I think I know the problem ,but wanted to run it by all of you to hear your thoughts on this issue.
Recently, while mixing a session, with no warrning message,I totally loose Pro Tools.Complete shutdown without even a window opening to say something like "Lost Connection with Pro Tools.Reconnect and click OK".Screen just diappears. The computer is fine, thinking that it was a crash, but have to reopen PT and then it seems fine,a little shaky, but fine.I can reboot the whole system and it's like nothing happened, but if this happenes, the session doesn't save and I have to reopen in the session back up folder.I think that this may be a driver prob.If so,do I need to just reinstall PT or mayby this is a common issue and there is a download fix.Thanx for any help.

I get something very similar when I using VST2RTAS wrapper on a certain VST plugin. ProTools just disappears without any error message. When I re-launch PT, it says PT closed improperly and can't be re-opened. I have to reboot.

The work-around is to not use that plug-in.

Some help, eh?
