Default Macbook Pro Retina 13" & Firewire Interfaces

The Macbook Pro Retina 13" isn't supposed to be compatible with PT 11 and Firewire interfaces:

I'm wondering if this also applies to the new early 2015 model? Can anyone report on any real world success with a firewire interface like the Sapphire Pro 40...?

Am I right in thinking it is fully compatible with USB interfaces the like Scarlett 18i20..?

Thanks,

M
