Timewarp 2600 CPU issue
Hello to all,
I've had the Timewarp 2600 installed on my MacBook, which is one of the new-ish, 09/2006-era models (2.0Ghz, 2GB RAM) and for whatever reason, any time I wish to work on tweaking a preset that contains multiple voices, I notice the CPU monitor goes into the red and gives me an undesirable playback. If I manually reduce the voices on the patch to "1" the patch plays crystal clear and the CPU monitor falls well out of the red. I wondered if it was a RAM issue, but I have the MacBook maxed out to 2GB. I have tried having the Timewarp 2600 application open with the CPU monitor in the red and checked the system usage for the whole computer and there is a ton of CPU going unused, apparently. My question is: how do I allow more memory/CPU/whatever to be used by the Timewarp 2600 so when I want to work on a multiple voice patch, the CPU doesn't max out on the 2600 and the patch plays as it is intended to play? Any help or recommendations on this matter is appreciated, thank you. Regards, Marco B. |
