M Powered Academic Version wont load and crashes my Mac

I have the pro tools M powered academic version with an M audio Firewire 410 hooked up. Every time i try and run the program it gives me that gray screen and makes me shut down my computer manually. Is anyone else out there having this problem and know what i need to do or if i need an updates to get this fixed so it doesnt crash my computer and i can pro tools running?
