Default FCPX to Pro Tools Workflow - expert help needed ! :)

Hi all, PT user of 12 years, but i've been doing more video work over recent years. This is my workflow..

Ive been editing in FCPX, then exporting the audio using a great little app called 'X2ProLE Audio Convert' which creates an AAF session, & everything loads into pro tools just fine.

I do my mix in PT, export the mix, bring that back into FCPX (whilst muting the original FCPX audio) & everything works.

Here's my problem, & this is probably a horrible video-newbie question...but...

If I'm forced to do a bunch of edits on the FCPX timeline *after* I've completed this process, is there anyway to recreate these same edits in my PT session?

Is this dark process 'conforming' ??

Or some call it re-conforming. You'll need EDL-X to convert your old version and new version FCP-X XML files into a vision EDL.

EDLs can also be compared using EdiLoad. Here's a Pro Tools Expert show-and-tell video:

Ah thats brilliant. Many thanks for the replies. have been watching the vids...totally new workflow for me compared to recording/mixing albums for the last 20+ years !

Out of curiosity, what Video NLE's do folks use here?

Ive been on FCPX for the last few years & get on with it pretty well, but have been mostly making music videos.

Ive only really started to get fed up with it as I've been doing more corporate work that involves sound mixing too.

I did have a look at Media Composer yesterday, hoping it would be more like Pro Tools, & it felt like something coded about 12 years ago . There damn thing even stops playing anytime you try & adjust any settings.

What to others think of resolve? It it a full on replacement package rather than just a colour-grading tool now?
