Default Strike MIDI Region empty after reopening session

Hi there,

strange problem. I produced a piece in PT8cs3 with 6 Audiotracks,1 DB33 Instrument track and 1 Strike Instrument track. Saved, shut PT down, shut PC down, went off. Came back, started PC, opened the Song but every region of Strikes instrument track was almost EMPTY , just the very first note was there in some of the regions.

any idea anybody
(this never happened before)

How did you create the Strike track?

Did you drag and drop the patterns or did you play notes to get each pattern to change?

Hi Russ,

thanks for lookin in

I created an instrument track, inserted STRIKE in A and recorded several takes (notes to change patterns), quantized start and end of notes. "ctrl d" only one region out of seven.

Until now I tried to reproduce this weird behavior but no "luck", everything working fine. Recreated the regions (could use my bounced mix to figure out) shut down everything opened again and all notes were there ??

Same thing happening here! After reopening a session some midi regions are empty - randomly. WTF? This is absolutely horrifying!!!!!!!

I am not using Strike. Happens on different tracks.

Right now I'm working on a very tight time schedule. I am heavily alarmed.

Anybody?

OK we need to be methodical about this.

Once you drop MIDI into tracks then it simply becomes a MIDI track, so what your saying is when you have an instance of Strike in a session that some of the MIDI data is missing from tracks assigned to Strike when reopened? If you answer is yes, can I ask you to check 2 things:

1. Are the missing tracks still in the region list?
2. If you import session data then do the tracks appear in the new session?

Russ, Thanks for the fast reply!

Just to be clear, I'm not the original poster. I'm NOT using Strike.
I have those issues within different midi regions on different tracks.

I have the problem that midi regions are "losing" their content after reopening (or whenever).
Unfortunately that happens randomly on different tracks.

So my questions still remain and perhaps identify to as a PT8 bug not a Strike bug, what happened when you looked into the 2 questions I asked.

The quicker you answer those the quicker we may find a solution.

To be quick:

1. I don't miss tracks or regions. I miss events in regions.
2. see above.

I did some tests.

The problem occurs after saving, closing and reopening the session.
I don't have to quit PT or restart the Mac.
