Default Quicktime problems

Having a heck of a time importing QT movies.

Avid codecs give us a blank white screen. The Digi Answerbase suggests changing QT video prefs to "safe mode." Did that but that didn't change it.

Sorenson 3 looks and works great, but when the video ends and I stop playback, then go back and begin playback again, I see a just a white screen in the Movie window. Things look fine in the video track playlist in frames mode, but the movie window is white. Reimporting the movie fixes it for one pass, but then it happens again once I hit stop.

I've also been getting this pleasant little error message:
Could not complete your request because: Assertion in “\code\azores_Handel\AlturaPorts\NewFileLibs\BDM\B CM_Workspace.cpp”, line 1293

Fun.

System:
HD 2 Accel
PT 6.4
HP xw8000
Tons of RAM
Quantegy FW drives

Update: We got the Avid video working, but we had to get a patch sent from Avid techsupt. Still couldn't figure out the Sorenson issue.

And as for the cryptic error message. It's gone and I don't care to know where it went.
