AVID Support Question
Just got the email about the new AVID support contracts. One of the things it seems to include is 'access to software updates'.
Does this mean that we aren't going to get cs updates unless we subscribe to an AVID support contract? Or does it mean that we get major system upgrades for free? Are we entering into a Waves WUP situation here, or are AVID just offering a whole pile of extra support to those that need it? |

Re: AVID Support Question
Hi,
These support packages are optional and have been offered to customers looking for extended support packages for quite a while. The new support offerings now also include free upgrades to our Pro Tools software, and some packages offer 7 x 24 support and extended hardware warranties for larger enterprise type customers. Pro Tools software will still be offered as a separate upgrade and will not be tied to a mandatory type support offering. Additionally, email access for support, our self help Knowledgebase, and cs software updates for bug fixes will be available on our website for all customers, as always. DigiCS |
