PT 12.4 HDX crashing when creating sessions from .ptxt templates?

Worked fine last week, but now when I try to create a session by opening a template file, including the ones that came with PT, I get a hard crash out of Pro Tools to the error reporter screen.


Trashed all my prefs but its still happening.

Any ideas?

Same here, my work around for now is just importing session data for after making a new blank session...12.4 though with the freeze addition.. nice is quite buggy. please call or email support so they know, i did and they are looking into it but i best if more people let them know that it's widespread.

I always begin a session from template i made but now..... no more new song...

hey guys. my facility went through this. owner figured it out. some new bug has been introduced where the template file doesn't know the IO setting.

simply take the template file and remove the "t" from .ptxt

open it as a session. save. put the "t" back on it.

it should now know what the IO is and it should work.

This allowed me to open it but putting the T back resulted in the same crash

Thee workaround is like bdale said BUT you have to re-save as a new template. So remove the T, open and save as a new template. Poof ;P

Have done bale's fix below, still can't open template. I'm on 12.4.294 hdx2

kinda need to use my template. Anyone else still having this issue? Any fix Avid?
