Second that, even a X58 Tylersburg chipset.

Yeah, I guess it's time to roll up my sleeves and get back into it, and go ahead and upgrade. I wonder if I can use any of my old parts (chasis, vid card, maybe my PSU?)

Has anyone PDf'd the latest working recipe? There was only about 100 pages the last time I did this, lol.

Case, graphics card if it still has valid drivers, PSU perhaps not given they only have a life span of several thousand hours and besides that depending what processor (Tylersburg or Patsburg) your current PSU might be incompatible. So what is it going to be X58 Tylersburg or X79 Patsburg?

Not sure yet-I'm going to look at compatability with my current components, I'm also going to scour through the last hundred or so pages in this forum, but off the cuff I'm thinking Patsburg.

So after doing some "light" reading I'm liking Sawllkwa's components:
Intel Core i7-3930K 3.2GHz, ASUS P9X79 WS, Corsair Hydro H80, Corsair XMS3 Vengeance 16GB DDR3 PC3-12800 1600MHz ((4x4GB), 32 GB total), Intel Intern SSD 120GB 320 Series Intern SATA 2.5" (for OS), Cooler Master HAF tower.

I could probably keep my HD's, and I think graphic card. Different form factor so out with my case. I guess I will have to start posting on the i7 thread instead of here -( a little sad about it really).

Oh, and I have to convince my wife that a new pc build would be really good for our marriage.

Hard to believe this build and thread is over 6 years old. Windows 8 is around the corner, yet XP is still supported until 2014. It's probably the only thing that survived the original Quadzilla build.

Remeber 3JDamon's outrageous Dverb claim? He was running Pro Tools MP if I recall. Even duplicating his specs couldn't provide suitable answers.
