Default cannot write info into track comments box

It seems that whenever I get a session loaded up with plugins (i.e. 14 in 5 tracks) I cannot add or change any info into the comment box. I'm not writing novels down there either. Just notes on mic used, plugin settings, etc.- in other words a few shorts words notating what's going on in the track.

What exactly happens is that when i highlight the box, whatever words that are there disappear and when I start typing there is just a little series of tiny, tiny marks (or dots perhaps?) so that I can see there is 'movement' of the cursor but NOT what i'm writing. when i push enter and the box returns to it's normal gray color then the words are there that i've added. The problem also repeats itself if I close the session and open it again. was entering in the track comment. I have no idea what's up with this!
To be clear: i never seem to have this problem with a session that's just lightly plugged in.

and yes, i've done all the upgrades, and troubleshooting tips.

iMac 10.5.6, Intel Core 2 Duo, 2.66 GHz, Memory:4 GB, Protool 8 upgrade

I thought it was me. I have the same problem. I have the same iMac setup too. I wonder what it is. What plugins are you using besides what came with the software?

have you tried clicking on the track name bar, which should bring up the window where you can rename the track and then have a larer window below for comments???

just a thought- I don't have the same set-up, but I am on 8.0 and no problems on my end (knock on wood...)

Do you have any plug-ins' GUI open when this happens? What OS are you running? What language is your OS set to?

Yes, I do. The demo plugins from Massey. I'm running Leopard. English is the language my os is set to, not space language.

Ok- my plugins are those that came with PT8 and some new Massey stuff that i've just discovered.

And for the session mentioned I was also running BFD. yes, i've tried opening the full dialogue track comment box and it's the same.

sorry- I should have included this: OSX 10.5.7. and, again, i've done all the stuff on the troubleshooting page. also- this is my second reinstall.

Ok, I did a quick test on my LE rig:

One by one went through the plugins opening them and trying to type something into any comment box. Everything was fine until I opened analog channel 2. At that point the text is basically invisible with a few sparatic dots here and there and when you press enter you can see the text again. The problem persisted even after I had closed analog channel 2.
