Feature wishes for christmas

Dear AVID,

it's christmas time. So I have a few wishes for new features ;-)

-Multiple marker lanes. Searchable Markers. Wider marker window for longer marker names.

-Let us be able to fix a track on top of the edit window, so that it is always visible.

Revamp hardware inserts. Ideally with a “ping” feature to once and for all eliminate the delay comp issues many are suffering from with hardware inserts.

I love the idea of pinning a track or two in the edit/mix window.

How about variable speed playback that doesn't freeze up the UI while the transport's running?

While we're at it, Reaper's region bounce dialog is pretty incredible. You can multiple regions from the timeline (as opposed to exporting clips) and get a loudness report when it's done.

Little known but you can already search for markers via PT's global search function: control-shift-s on mac. It finds every clip, plugin etc. incl. markers. It's like spotlight inside PT.

That said, we need object-based markers like in MediaComposer. And have markers from MC translate to PT in the same way and not turn them into the yellow time-based ones.

Can you elaborate on the idea of 'object-based' markers? What do you mean by that? I don't edit picture and haven't used Media Composer.

I wonder how long it would take them to break that feature once introduced - ie. send it to the bottom of the page offscreen, just like they did with Zoom Toggle (Focus=E). It's hardly "focused" when it's halfway off the bottom of the Edit Window.
