Command 8 Faders just stopped
My Command 8 that I just purchased new in Jan 2011 the faders just stopped working the Command 8 just says it's offline all of the controls on the unit continue to work with the exception of the powered faders. Sam Ash says it only comes with a 90 day warranty from them but I have a year from Digideisn/Avid I cannot reach anyone at Avid without purchasing a support ticket for $50 which I don't need to do since it's not a Pro Tools problem. This is terribly aggravating since I own so many digi/avid products I see no need to have to purchase something to tell me how to get something fixed I have updated all of the firmware so I know thats not the problem . Any help would be GREATLY APPRECIATED !!!!

have you ran threw the trouble shooting?
If you on PC putting it into standalone mode and running MIDIOX on the pc will let you see if the faders buttons and rotery encoders are sending and receiving midi. If they are receiving when you send a control value the fader will move. If that works it actually could be a pro tools problem. as always run threw the delete preffs... blah blah blah basically do what it says in the "HELP US HELP YOU!" sticky thread for general pro tools troubleshooting. Hope that gets you in the right direction. I can't say I have ever had any trouble getting ahold of somone at Avid. After you do the basic troubleshooting if your still having problems give them a call and talk to the person who asks you for your ticket. They may have some good advice on how to proceed. DTS may chime in on your thread but you should prob go ahead and so some TS on your end. |

We got your 'reported post' email and wanted to let you know that you can call tech support for a repair at 650.731.6100 and choose option '3' for repairs - the call is free. You do not need an ASC if you're definitely experiencing a hardware failure. There is only a charge if troubleshooting or diagnosis is needed.
