Default Where to buy 5 node TDM ribbon cable, NEW ?W

Is it possible that a TDM ribbon cable simply goes bad all of a sudden ? My system has been freezing alot lately, with many errors but mostly -9162.

I ran the digitest the other day and both cards (Mix Core & Mix Farm) failed the test. Then I restarted and Digitest would only see the Mix farm card, and guess what -- it passed a 2nd test, the Mix Farm card. Strange!

So I pulled the Mix Farm out completely so no ribbon cable was necessary, and then the Core card passed Digitest many times with flying colors.

So, after much troubleshooting, I'm pretty convinced that the ribbon cable is somehow bad. Since both cards passed Digitest seperatley, it seems like it can't be a bad chip on either of the cards.

Any thoughts on this issue will be appreciated.

Could be that everything just needed to be reseated.

Do you treat your cards and cables with a contact stabilant like Caig ProGold? If not, it's a REALLY good idea if dependability is what you're after.

www.caig.com

I'd recommend using the 5% ProGold spray on the TDM cable. Put the cable upside down on a paper towel, attach the spray tube to the spray can, adjust the can to "L" and give every connector you're using a shot.

For the card contact edges, use ProGold wipes to clean and treat before you insert the card. In addition to improving the contacts, it makes them easier to put in.

It's a good idea to use ProGold on all your computer contacts (cables, memory sticks, etc.).

BTW, regarding your TDM cable, if you think there's a problem and you're not using all the nodes, offset the cable by one or more connectors and see if that helps.
