Distortion in sound after Bounce to Disk
Hello everyone, I have just registered on the forum due to this problem.
My situation is this: I'm editing a trailer for a short film on Final Cut Pro 7 and the final mix on PT. It sounds good when I playback it in the session but once I get the project bounced this sounds all distorted both in Final Cut and in any player (quicktime, vlc, iTunes...). I need this mix to be ready for this Saturday so any help is really appreciated Thanks in advance! P.S.: I have also tried to record everything on a new stereo track but the sound breaks during the recording (though I put an aux track or a compressor)... |

Re: Distortion in sound after Bounce to Disk
Make a master fader. Pull it way down, like -20. Turn up your monitor volume a bit. Play the track back and watch the peak level on the master. Turn it up enough that the highest peak is between -3 and -1. Bounce that. Should fix it. Really, for a film trailer, you should be using a loudness meter to keep your mix at the standard level. That will keep you out of the distortion zone. Here's a good article on it with pointers to more info.
