How to improve audio quality when bouncing tracks
I was wondering if anyone can give me tips when I dump tracks from Logic into Protools. I know this is a topic discussed before, but thought there might be some new innovations or ideas.
I usually do all of my sequencing in Logic and Bounce all separate tracks to digital audio then bring them into Protools. I do this all at 24BIT level with the following setup. Mixplus, G4 Dual Processor, Two 1622's, and a bunch of synths/rack modules. I do all my mixing digitally. Also, I produce mainly Dance music, and only use synths.. no live instruments etc.. All my mixing is done with plugins, etc. ****My question/problem is this: When I bring in all the audio tracks I have bounced, I definitely notice that the sound quality is not as full as when using the 1622's just as A/Ds. There is a loss of presence, and overall quality. I am doing this all at 24 BIT. Any suggestions as to how I can get better quality. I try to keep the recording levels as hot as possible also. ALso, what about using DUY TAPE when recording tracks to simlulate 2" tape sound? Thanks. Keith |

Re: How to improve audio quality when bouncing tracks
Why not just record each miditrack to audio simply by bussing with in the mixer to audiotracks..?..if you think that the bounce itself is causing degradation.
