I see this same type of sluggishness in the Edit window if I'm in Playlist view on a track with many (more than 10-15) playlists. Pro Tools hangs for 2-5 seconds when you click the Solo button on a playlist lane. It also lags when you try to start playing audio and when you click the arrow button (which is also doesn't animate when clicked in 2018.1) to promote a clip to the main playlist. Makes comping extremely inefficient. Didn't have this problem with 12.8.3, only with 2018.1. If I change back to Waveform or any other view of the track, Pro Tools performs just fine, no sluggishness!

2018.3 seems to have cured this issue!
