Used Pro tools Licence Question

I am planning on purchasing Pro tools. I was looking on eBay and I found I can buy a used Pro Tools 10/11/12 FULL perpetual and it includes free upgrades for a year.

I asked the seller how he would send me the licence and he explained that he would create an ilok account for me and insert the licence into the new account then give me the login and password details for the ilok. Then I would insert the licence into my new ilok.

My question is how will I be able to renew my update plan after the year is up? How would that work with the license just being on the ilok. Is that all that is needed to renew my update plan after the year is up? If I created a Avid account would i be able to put the used license from my ilok onto a newly created Avid account.

I just want to know all the details before i decide what to do.
What I want to do is get pro tools and every year be able to renew my update plan, would this be possible with buying it in this method of buying it used?

While some of those ebay deals are legit, there are a lot of scams on there. The fact that they are trying to put it on an ilok for you and give you the login info rather than transfer it to your account is a red flag. It might be legit, but I would proceed with caution.
