Default Feature request -post fader inserts on tracks/aux

I'd really like to see this added to PT. DP has a neat feature where you can simply decide at what point in the chain the inserts become post-fader just by dragging a line up or down the insert chain. Yes I know you can do the same thing with sends and auxes, but sometimes I just want to have a single track routed this way (I.E. a single track of NR) that would be post-fader without having to set up all the routing or resorting to mixing with a trim plug. Anyone else?

It seems to me that a "post fader" insert would not be an "insert" at all; It would just be a send wouldn't it?

Not really Tom,

A send, well... sends the signal somewhere but doesn't return in to the channel... it returns somewhere else. An insert both sends and returns to the same place. It would just be convenient once in a while to have volume control BEFORE the effect rather than after.

I'd also really like to see post-fader inserts added to Pro Tools. On audio tracks, I would find they often more useful than pre-fader inserts. So I vote yes!

This has been requested fro a couple of yeras now.
It's especially helpfull on Dialogue tracks so you can not have the audio hitting plugins at full volume. and distorting EQ's etc.

Well, I do know the difference between a send and an insert... So what you're talking about would sit between the channel fader and the selected output?

I've been screaming for this forever.

I would LOVE to have a post fader insert on my Dialog and VO tracks so I can push the fader INTO the compressor without wasting an Aux bus.

I vote yes!!!

Exactly! Not an "every single time" sorta thing, but when you need it... you need it !
