Delayed/distorted playback...

Probably the soundcard, but I'm running PTFree on my PIII 1Ghz Me system with a SBLive Value card and the playback is driving me nuts.

If I import a sound effect, or record a new track and automate the volume or pan or just plain out edit the track the playback works for a couple of times then gives me a distorted delayed play.

Save, quit, open...good as new, until I start editing and then it starts again.

What the heck is going on?

Common problem with PTF, especially with the Soundblaster Live card. Instead of saving, closing. etc.., next time it does it, just click on Hardware Setup, and click okay when the window opens. Your sound should be back to normal for awhile again. Just keep doing it everytime the sound starts to break up.
